About the Event
The root of many of the medieval period’s deadliest weapons, the quarterstaff is a versatile and adaptable weapon as capable of being a wizard’s travelling staff as it is a warrior’s spear or halberd. Quarterstaff is found in every major action genre, including Star Wars: Rogue One, The Walking Dead, Shang Chi, The Lord of The Rings, Robin Hood, Troy, Game of Thrones and many more.
On this course you will:
Gain practical, hands-on experience putting performance into action with long staffs.
Learn how to control the staff effectively in long-form and short-form, in both attack and defence, through a wide range of techniques and applications.
Understand how to play characters who love to fight, from; how movement, body language, voice and expression all affect the performance of a fight.
Try your hand at staff spinning and flashy techniques that will wow audiences.
